Trending Tuesday: Colorful 'Crayola Home' in Wisconsin Seeks Buyer Who Thinks Outside the Lines

About the Crayola Home: Fifteen years ago, the architect Margaret McCurry designed an ultramodern house like no other. The result is a 4,400-square-foot beauty on 3.5 acres in Oostburg, WI, with five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

But size isn't what sets this particular abode apart. It’s as if McCurry had grabbed a pack of Crayola crayons and gone all out to liven up the exterior trim.

The owners who commissioned the project—featured in Architectural Digest in 2007—have now put it on the market for $1,175,000.

Lake Michigan hugs the property and you can see the waters from every room in the house. Its wraparound patio lies only a few feet from the water, thanks to the 190 feet of private shoreline.

The home spans two levels, and its high-end features include two living rooms and polished concrete floors throughout.

The kitchen, with its island in the shape of a half-moon and gleaming stainless steel, is custom-built for any home chef who loves to entertain.

There's also a sun-room with enough space for a fireplace, a bunch of Adirondack chairs, and a full dining set.

Oostburg is in Sheboygan County, about two hours north of Chicago and an hour north of Milwaukee.
